Forging a Digital Economy Future with AIS in Thailand
In the era of rapid digital economic growth, Thailand, as a key country in the Indochina Peninsula, is undergoing a profound transformation in the telecommunications sector. Following the consolidation of telecom enterprises, Thailand now exhibits a “2+1” oligopoly market structure. AIS, our strategic partner, successfully acquired 3BB in 2022 and launched the new Fibre3 brand. With nearly 5 million broadband users, AIS commands almost half of Thailand's market share. Facing challenges such as high broadband penetration, intense competition, and network convergence, AIS has raised its expectations for broadband network construction and upgrades.
To support AIS in maintaining its leading position in Thailand’s broadband market, FiberHome International’s Thailand Region hosted a seminar titled “Connecting the Bright Digital Future” on August 29. The event welcomed senior leaders and technical experts from AIS, with over 20 distinguished guests from Fibre3 attending. The seminar commenced in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.
The seminar began with an opening speech by Mr. Zhao Tong Qiang, CEO of FiberHome Thailand Region. He warmly welcomed AIS customers and revisited the decade-long collaboration between FiberHome, AIS, and 3BB. Mr. Zhao expressed confidence in broader future partnerships, envisioning Fibre3 continuing to make breakthroughs in Thailand’s telecom market by offering cutting-edge technologies and solutions to advance the industry. He reaffirmed FiberHome’s commitment to supporting AIS in consolidating its market leadership.
Following this, Mr. Luo Wenyi, Vice President of FiberHome’s Broadband Product Line, presented FiberHome’s history and major contributions to telecommunications. He also shared insights on international FTTH development trends and technology evolution, reiterating FiberHome’s dedication to supporting AIS with technologically advanced and commercially optimal solutions.
Highlighting Innovations and Solutions
The seminar aimed to deepen AIS customers’ understanding of FiberHome’s current product offerings while introducing advanced technologies such as 400G OTN, Wi-Fi 7, XGSPON, 50GPON, and intelligent ODN operation and maintenance solutions. Importantly, the discussions addressed challenges in existing and future network development, providing professional solutions and showcasing successful case studies from other global operators to inspire AIS.
During the networking session, FiberHome’s technical experts engaged in in-depth conversations with AIS representatives, offering professional advice tailored to AIS’s current network strategy and long-term development plans. Their insights on overcoming challenges in broadband infrastructure were met with positive feedback and high praise from AIS participants.
